Accessible by intent.
Respectful by practice.

IPMS Seattle maintains this website as a public club resource. We want its information, photographs, documents, and ways to contact the chapter to be usable by as many people as possible.

Accessibility statement

Our goal

IPMS Seattle aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA for the current website. Accessibility is treated as ongoing maintenance rather than a one-time certification.

Measures we take

  • Use semantic page landmarks, heading order, keyboard navigation, visible focus, skip links, and readable color contrast.
  • Provide text-size controls and Play/Pause controls for slideshows. First-time visitors receive paused slideshows, and a visitor’s latest choice is remembered in that browser.
  • Label controls, links that open new tabs, embedded documents, and current-site images when meaningful descriptions are available.
  • Test representative pages with automated tools and manual keyboard review.

Known limitations

The website preserves several decades of club history. Some older PDFs are scans or were created before accessible-document practices were common. Some historical gallery photographs have only limited surviving caption information.

Search results are supplied by Google Custom Search. Google generates some of that interface after the IPMS Seattle page loads, and portions of its generated markup do not meet the same accessibility standard as the rest of this site.

Feedback and assistance

If a page, photograph, document, control, or old bookmark is difficult to use, please contact the Web Coordinator. Include the page address and a short description of what went wrong. We will provide the information in another reasonable format when we can.

Privacy statement

Information you choose to send

The contact form may ask for a name, email address, subject, and message. That information is used to route and answer the message. IPMS Seattle does not sell or rent information submitted through the website.

Routine technical information

Like most websites, the server may record technical information such as the requested page, time, browser type, referring page, and internet address. These records support security, troubleshooting, and basic site operation.

Google services

The site uses Google Analytics for general usage information and Google Custom Search for site search. Search terms and technical information may be processed by Google, and Google may use cookies or similar browser storage under its own privacy practices.

External websites

The Resources directory and other pages link to independent websites. Their content and privacy practices are controlled by their respective owners.

Retention and questions

Messages may remain in ordinary club email records as needed for correspondence and chapter administration. To ask about information sent through this site, please contact the Web Coordinator.
